January 2010 Newsletter
Next Meeting: at the Overlake Round Table Pizza Restaurant Tuesday, January 26th, 7:00pm
DUES ARE DUE: It’s a brand new year and that means it is dues time again. Be sure to remember your checkbook or bring cash. Come early, grab a pizza and/or salad and have some extra time to chat and pay your dues.
Annual dues are $24 for single and family memberships and $12 for senior (65+) memberships. Delinquent memberships will have their newsletters cancelled if not renewed by March. If you are unable to make it to the meetings, please mail dues to the address above.
January Meeting: This month we will have Jerome Jefferson, owner and operator of the “By The River” Sports store in Fall City.
Upcoming Outings: With the new year we have an open calendar for potential outings. Besides our special Forks, Sturgeon, and Grande Ronde outings, there are opportunities for local and other special outings. There has been some talk of a Tuna outing this year. Bring your ideas and we can have a brief discussion at the meeting with follow-up at next month’s board meeting.
Christmas Dinner: We had a great time at the Fall City Grill last month. Could welcomed a few more, but 41 members and guests enjoyed a fine dinner and a lot of fun. Roger Anderson walked away with all the honors for the Summer Steelhead Contest with his name being added to the traveling plaque and winning the drawing from all entrants for a new fishing rod. Sportmans’ Expo: This year’s Sportmans’ show will be just after our regular meeting night, running from Wednesday January 27th thru Sunday January 31st. Club members have the opportunity to help out at the Kid’s Fishing Pond. Volunteers will get free admission to the Expo, parking has been freeing the past. Volunteers will also be able to view the rest of the show before and/or after their shift. Most club members currently signed up will be manning the first (12:00pm) shift on Wednesday. If you have not already, contact Ernie Anderson as soon as possible to get on the list so he can have enough time to request tickets in time to have them delivered by our meeting night.
Raffle Donations: A special thanks to Milt Keizer’s friend Mike Lonie. He donated several “prizes” for our raffle. When you see NRA items over the next few months you’ll have Mike to thank.
