Next Meeting: at the Overlake Round Table Pizza Restaurant Tuesday, March 25th, 7:00pm
Attendance Drawing: Jim Warberg’s name was drawn for the second month in a row, but he forgot about the ‘fine print’-you have to be present to win. So the pot grows another $10, to $20 for March. Only paid-up members will be included in the drawing. MarchMarch Meeting: Our speaker this month will be Terry Wiest, an instructor at Steelhead U, who will discuss jig/float fishing for Steel steelhead. He will bring plenty of equipment to give us an interesting multi-media presentation. Those wanting to learn jig fishing need need to hear this. Experienced jig fishermen will pick up a different perspective that may improve their catch percentages.
Marc March Outing: A storm early in the week had a definite impact on the Forks rivers. Dave McHenry postponed his trip with Norrie. Sol DWith the Sol Duc and Calawah relatively high, but fishable, invited a lot of boat traffic from the other rivers that did not fare as well from the th the storm. Tom Nordin and a friend went out with Norrie on Thursday and found two (12# hen and 19#buck), but none on Friday. Tom Jim Grimes spent several days and despite less than ideal conditions was at his usual fish finding self. No report if any others attended
April April Outing: With the Springer season below the Willamette open for just 12-days, March 29th through April 4th, our April outingouting is set for the weekend of March 29th/30th. Several members are planning for the weekend and more. Jan April AprilMeeting: Although final confirmation should be verified by the meeting, the speaker for April will have a presentation on crabbing and shrimping.
Cast Cast For Kids’ Fishing Event: It is possible that club members will participate in the the Cast For Kids’ Event at Gene Coulon Park in Renton. We will find out at the meeti meeting how many will participate in this year’s event. SS Sturgeon Trip: Don Oster was able to get a hold of the Four Sea’sons out of Sea Breeze Charters for June 5th & 6th (Thursday & Friday) ThisThis should be the best tides of the season. The Four Sea’sons will handle up to 16 passengers. Boat space is almost filled up with only two spaces on Thursday and one space on Friday left. Tentative price is $85.00 per person per day, plus tax. Mark your calendars and make your reservations. Don’t forget reservations for accommodations. DeposDeposit ($45) will be due at the meeting, so bring your checkbook. Picture Board: Bring new photos. The old pictures have been removed and board is ready for new ones. Tid Bi Tid Bits: Remember March 31st is the last day for your 2007-8 fishing license and Steelhead punchcard. Be s Be sure to purchase a new license and punchcard before heading out for any April fishing. Rick Michael is recovering well from his hip replacement surgery in December. He made it to the last meeting and is currently going through therapy. He's anticipating the best therapy coming soon, the Springer fishery on the Columbia. A CO COMING EVENTS:
