Next Meeting:  at the Overlake Round Table Pizza Restaurant

Tuesday, June 28th, 7:00pm

June Meeting:  This month we have the privilege of a little nostalgia.  Milt Keizer came across a DVD of Don McCune.  For those of you that have been around this area for while, you will remember him as “Captain Puget” (1957-1966) and the host of “Exploration Northwest” that ran in the sixties.  On the DVD Don McCune will take us fishing in Alaska.

June Meeting:  After having the February meeting cancelled because only a few were able to show up due to bad weather, Jim Owens of Cast for Kids was able to come back.  We like to thank him for telling us of the program.

Sturgeon Trip:  Well the sturgeons were a no show this year.  The first day we opted to go out on the salt for bottom fish.  We limited out on black rock bass and got several lingcod.  Kevin Hauglie brought in a nice halibut, but due to regulations in that area he had to release it.  The second day was on the Columbia.  Only one sturgeon was caught and it was a keeper.  Unfortunately, it was not by a club member.

Salmon Trip:  Jim Warberg has reserved a boat out of Ilwaco for Fall Kings for August 25th and 26th.  There are only a few spots left, so contact Jim if you are interested.  More details will be available at the next few meetings.  Deposits of $60 will be due by the June meeting.

July Picnic:  The summer picnic is not that far away.  We are planning to the picnic on our regular meeting day, the fourth Tuesday in July (July 26th).  Details in the planning will be worked out at the Board Meeting between now and then.  You too can begin by planning what you will bring for the "dessert" auction; especially, if you need brewing and aging time for your special product.  Unless there is a change in the membership, it looks like the split will be those with last names starting with A through Ga will bring cold dishes and Ge through Z will bring hot dishes.

Garage Sale:   In order to generate some funds towards a security system that the Club will donate to the Issaquah fish hatchery, John Dunkel will be doing a garage sale the first weekend in August.  All proceeds will go towards the cause.  (Any surplus will be returned to the Club).  John has asked Club members to donate items that could be sold during the garage sale.  In order to make it easier for Club members, you can bring items to the July picnic to load into John’s truck.

Christmas Party:  The place where we have had our annual Christmas Dinner Party, the Other Place in Fall City, is no longer in business and does not appear to be an option for this year.  Over the next few months the Board will be looking for new sites.  Any suggestions from the members will be appreciated.
