Next Meeting:at the Overlake Round Table Pizza Restaurant

Tuesday, January 25th, 7:00pm

Happy New Year:  With the new year the 2011 officers are up and running.  Of course, all of last year's officers are continuing this year.

DUES ARE DUE:  It’s a brand new year and that means it is dues time again.  Dick Geissler has the honors of being the first renewal for the year.  Be sure to remember your checkbook or bring cash.  Come early, grab a pizza and/or salad and have some extra time to chat and pay your dues.

Annual dues are $24 for single and family memberships and $12 for senior (65+) memberships.  Delinquent memberships will have their newsletters cancelled if not renewed by March.  If you are unable to make it to the meetings, please mail dues to the address above.

January Meeting: This month Roger Anderson will be our speaker and will give some pointers on our local rivers.

Upcoming Outings:  With the new year we have an open calendar for potential outings.  Besides our special Forks, Sturgeon, and Grande Ronde outings, there are opportunities for local and other special outings.  Bring your ideas and we can have a brief discussion at the meeting with follow-up at next month’s board meeting.

Christmas Dinner:  We had a great time at the Fall City Grill last month with a fine dinner and a lot of fun.  Like last year, Roger Anderson again came in with the largest fish for the Summer Steelhead Contest, but unlike last year he was not alone with that honor.  This year he had to share the honor with Jim Warberg as top dog.  Both Jim and Roger will have their names added to the traveling plaque.   Roger's wife Lynn won the drawing from all entrants for a new fishing rod.  With over 120 raffle prizes, the prize runners were busy. The final prize was the contents on the "lure tree" won by Rod Geyer.

Sportmans’ Expo:   This year’s Sportmans’ show will be just after our regular meeting night, running from Wednesday January 26th thru Sunday January 30st.  Club members have the opportunity to help out at the Kid’s Fishing Pond.  Volunteers will get free admission to the Expo, parking has been freeing the past.  Volunteers will also be able to view the rest of the show before and/or after their shift.  Most club members currently signed up will be manning the first (12:00pm) shift on Wednesday.  The reason for the early distribution of the newsletter is to give you a chance, if you have not already, to contact Ernie Anderson, (425) 747-2865. Call him as soon as possible so he can have enough time to request tickets in time to have them delivered by our meeting night.

Sturgeon Trip:  This year we could not get the Pacific Dream for a suitable date.  So we will be on the West Wind this June.  Don Oster has us booked for Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th.  More details over the next few months.

Raffle Donations:  A special thanks to Milt Keizer’s friend Mike Lonie.  He has again donated several “prizes” for our raffle.  When you see NRA items over the next few months you’ll have Mike to thank.

Bank Change:  The board has approved the change of the Club's checking account to Watermark Credit Union.  Fees from the previous account were becoming unreasonable.
